Yay, it’s CodeMash CTF time! The bonobos and the CTF staff have been working with Secure Code Warrior to put together another exciting CTF event this year – make sure you read and sign up, it’s a timed challenge, and no amount of chocolate and coffee from the Candy Hut will make it any faster.  There is even a video to explain everything.  Secure Code Warrior completely donated the event to CodeMash, and heaping praise on them is heartily encouraged. (And if you need to get some training in for your development staff, I can’t recommend them enough.)  Everything will be discussed via the twitter (@codemashctf) and CM CTF slack channel.

CodeMash + Secure Coding Tournament

When: January 10th, 9:00AM ET – January 12th, 5:00PM ET

Secure Code Warrior brings you a defensive security-based tournament from a developer’s perspective. The tournament allows you to test your skill against the other participants in a series of vulnerable code challenges that ask you to identify a problem, locate insecure code, and fix a vulnerability. You don’t need extensive programming knowledge as this will be a great way to learn the foundations and intermediates of leveraging code that is not only functional but is also secure.

You can find tournament step-by-step guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8XhKK_eOOs

The tournament is run virtually so you can join through your laptop from the most convenient location and time. It should take only a few hours, drop-in as you see fit during the duration of the event to complete all the challenges and may be eligible to win a prize!  You must be attending CodeMash 2023 to win.  Top 3 will be presented with a trophy at the closing ceremonies.

Instructions for playing:
1) Register for the Secure Code Warrior platform here: https://discover.securecodewarrior.com/CodeMash23.html
2) Check your email for the confirmation and access the unique link to create your profile.

The Secure Code Warrior platform will be open before and after the tournament, so feel free to practice in the “Training” tab.

A live leaderboard will be on the monitors at the SCW table to see how you’re performing!
