A CodeMash update for our community

I want to take a moment to update the CodeMash community on the state of the conference, considering the tough economic and market conditions we are all experiencing. CodeMash was started in 2006 as a conference for the community, by the community. We wanted an awesome event in the Great Lakes region, supporting and showing off our local talent. Our goals have always been to create a great event that is accessible, affordable, and helps us learn outside our comfort zone. Howdy CodeMashers, We have two announcements regarding the board that governs CodeMash. As you know, CodeMash has always been run by a small group of volunteers. After being a member of the board for six years, and serving as the board secretary, Rob Gillen has retired from service, and has been promoted to attendee. He was a tireless member of the board, elevating how we worked with our contributors and the speaker community. His knowledge and mindset will be missed. Recorded Sessions now posted to YouTube!

Thanks to a sponsor, we were able to test session recording this past January. We selected a hardware solution that was mostly hands off. We also chose to record only the audio and projector output, excluding a video camera. We found that including a video camera not only increased costs during recording, but also during production of the video. We are open to feedback on what you think of the resulting videos, and if you think we should attempt to record all sessions next year. We really need your feedback.
