CodeMash is once again sponsoring KidzMash, a free family track for the spouses and families of attendees. Many attendees bring their families to the waterpark, and as there is only so much water skin can absorb before you need to dry out a bit, KidzMash is a way to connect and hangout together.
Over the years KidzMash has evolved into an official part of CodeMash, with its own sessions, activities, and full-time staff.
KidzMash will once again be running all 4 days of CodeMash, and as always
KidzMash is a free event!
IMPORTANT!
This year KidzMash is moving locations from the entrance of the convention center to the Executive Center around the corner.
Per the insurance provider for CodeMash, we are required to tell you that unattended minors are not allowed at the conference. When found, they will be given the Brian Prince orange hair color, a caramel double shot espresso, five pounds of candy from the Candy Hut, a drumset, and an open source project.
Please ask the designated chaperone to fill out the order form corresponding with the ticket purchase. Any unattended children will be sent to Kalahari security where they can be retrieved by the designated chaperone who ordered the KidzMash tickets.
Please remember that a KidzMash ticket does not grant access to meals provided in the banquet hall for CodeMash attendees. Only CodeMash-badged attendees are allowed in the ballroom during mealtimes.
CodeMash Events
At CodeMash we want everyone to have a great time and we want to expose children early on to careers in the technology industry. As CodeMash is a family friendly conference, the families are invited to any after hour activity, including the reception and the water park party on Thursday evening.
However, a KidzMash ticket does not grant access to meals provided in the banquet hall for CodeMash attendees. Only CodeMash-badged attendees are allowed in the ballroom during mealtimes.
What does it cost to attend KidzMash?
- Nothing! $0. Zilch.
- As long as one of the parents / guardians are attendees of CodeMash, each registered family member (parent and child) will get a special KidzMash badge and access to all the KidzMash fun.
- Kidz will also receive a t-shirt, while supplies last.
- Once again, per the insurance provider for CodeMash, we are required to tell you that unattended minors are not allowed at the conference.
- Please remember that a KidzMash ticket does not grant access to meals provided in the banquet hall for CodeMash attendees. Only CodeMash-badged attendees are allowed in the ballroom during mealtimes.
Some sessions have limited seating. Once those sessions are scheduled, sometime in December, we will add tickets for them here. This will include KidzMash Laser Tag, KidzMash 3d Printing, and KidzMash Divez. Most special sessions will be free. The related ticket will include more details. KidzMash Divez are free.
More announcements will be coming soon. Follow @kidzmash on Twitter, join the CodeMash Discord channel, and check in on the blog for updates.
Scroll to the bottom for KidzMash tickets, which will open up an ticket page. Or, navigate to it by clicking here, which is the same place we sell CodeMash attendee tickets. Press the “Tickets” button, and scroll down to find the KidzMash tickets.
Here is some of what we have planned:
KidzMash Sessionz – limited to a maximum of 50 attendees.
This room is for the sessions that were submitted to KidzMash. The community submitted amazing talks and the only complaint we have is that we can’t fit them all in! It is an honor to bring the current and future community together.
Sessionz are available on first come, first serve basis.
Special note: Sessionz are limited to 50 attendees plus their chaperones, which we ask to be limited to no more than 2 additional bodies in the room.
KidzMash Divez- Attendee limit will be set by the speaker (with a maximum of 30 attendees)
These are 2-hour sessions for ages 12+ that will allow our older KidzMash attendees the time to dig deeper into a topic of interest. Divez sessions will be attendee limited and free tickets will be “sold” using Eventbrite once the conference schedule has been finalized in early December. Stay tuned for more details!
KidzMash Makerz
This space is dedicated to getting hands-on by performing and completing experiments and projects designed for parents and kidz of all ages to enjoy together!
As always, all minors must be accompanied by an adult at CodeMash. Each project is designed to be self-managed by parents and kidz so you can explore and create on your own.
Kits available for check out are required to be checked out and returned by an adult.
Hours for Makerz will likely be:
- 9am-noon and 2pm -5pm Tuesday through Thursday
- 10am-2pm on Friday
Remember to check back during different times as the projects available to explore will change and some are limited.
KidzMash Hangoutz
Hangoutz is getting a new format!
This year scheduled activities will be held in Hangoutz. Details to come.
WaterPark
Of course, there is also the waterpark where there will be clearly marked KidzMash Cabanaz all four days for meetups and the stashing of stuff. Remember, families staying at offsite hotels still get access to the Kalahari waterpark all week. Your CodeMash attendee can pick up waterpark wristbands at Main Attendee Registration.
Kalahari Events
Be sure to check at the Kalahari front desk for the events hosted by the Kalahari.
