I’ve worn many hats, Webmaster, Applications Developer, Network Administrator, Database Administrator and Senior Software Engineer. I have been at companies that rely on stored procedures exclusively and those that use an ORM to abstract it all away. This experience puts me in a position to talk about optimizing SQL and seeing it from both sides. I am also the developer that evaluates the new toys to determine if they can be used to increase our efficiency.
